What Fixderma Says
Product Description:
Fixderma Vitipause Gel is a pigment regulating formulation which is intended to promote epidermal pigmentation and improve the appearance of vitiligo. This innovative formulation contains a rich blend of botanical antioxidants that help in maintaining the free radical balance in the melanocytes. It accelerates the skin's pigmentation and restores the melanin levels in the skin. Vitiligo gel is a specially designed formulation for improving the appearance of vitiligo. Madecassoside is a smart, powerful, and highly purified active and one of the most prominent molecules that brings relief to sensitive, dry, and photodamaged skin. Grey verse stimulates melanogenesis and reduces oxidative stress. Cucumis melo extract is rich in antioxidants and is very effective in vitiligo treatment. This combination of efficient actives targets the melanin from all directions to give the best possible results. Vitipause gel is made with melitane GL, which is a biomimetic peptide agonist that mimics the activity of the-MSH and stimulates melanin production. Cucumis melo extract is rich in antioxidants that naturally contain a high superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, which has been proposed to be important in stopping the melanocytes' deconstruction by oxidative stress in the first step of vitiligo. Madecassoside reduces the overproduction of inflammatory mediators, which results in providing soothing effects. Additionally, the ingredients present in the gel are repairing agents and have effects on pigmentation and anti-aging. Features: Pigment regulating formulation which is intended to improve the appearance of vitiligo. Enriched with melitane GL, madecassoside, greyverse, and cucumis melo extract. Rich in antioxidants that help in maintaining free radicals balance in the melanocytes. Helps accelerate the skin's pigmentation and restores the melanin levels in the skin. Non-greasy gel that's easy to apply. Paraben-free; silicone-free; cruelty-free

Ingredients Details
Madecassoside
Common Name(s): 6-o-beta-d-glucopyranosyl madecassic acid glycoside, centella triterpenoid glycoside
CAS Number: 34540-22-2
DESCRIPTION
What It Does: Stimulates collagen synthesis and wound healing while reducing inflammation โ the primary active in centella asiatica's skin repair activity.
Why It's Used: Standardized centella active for precise wound healing, collagen stimulation, and anti-inflammatory dosing with superior consistency vs whole centella extract.
How It Works: Activates tgf-beta1 receptor signaling to upregulate collagen i, iii, and iv synthesis in fibroblasts. inhibits nf-kb for anti-inflammatory activity. promotes keratinocyte migration and proliferation for re-epithelialization. also strengthens lamellar body structures.
Typically Found In: Post-procedure recovery, wound healing serums,anti-aging products, sensitive skin formulas
TECHNICAL DETAILS
Primary Category: Active ingredient โ soothing / anti-inflammatory
Secondary Functions: Collagen stimulation,wound healing,anti-inflammatory
Application Areas:
Facial Skincare
Body Care
Hair Care
Beard Care
Color Cosmetics (Makeup)
Dietary/Oral Supplements
Typical Concentration Range: 0.01%โ2%
SOURCING & ETHICS
Vegan Status: Yes โ from centella asiatica
Halal Status: Yes
Source Notes: Extracted from centella asiatica aerial parts. standardized to madecassoside content for consistent bioactivity.
SKIN COMPATIBILITY
Irritancy Rating: 1/5 โ very low
Comedogenicity Rating: 0/5 โ non-comedogenic
Sensitivity Concerns: Non-irritating; ideal for reactive and sensitive skin.
Safe for Sensitive Skin: Yes โ particularly recommended for sensitive skin
SAFETY & COMPATIBILITY
Safety Profile: Excellent safety profile. ewg score: 1.
Works Well With: Ceramides, panthenol, allantoin, hyaluronic acid, centella asiatica
Avoid Combining With: No significant incompatibilities
SCIENTIFIC NOTE
Madecassoside is the most water-soluble and bioavailable of the four major centella triterpene glycosides. its tgf-beta1-mediated collagen stimulation distinguishes it from other soothing actives โ providing not just anti-inflammatory relief but active tissue remodeling and collagen neosynthesis.

Water
Common Name(s): Water,purified water,deionised water,inci water
CAS Number: 7732-18-5
DESCRIPTION
What It Does: Provides the universal solvent and vehicle for water-soluble actives and the continuous phase of all o/w emulsions.
Why It's Used: The most essential cosmetic ingredient โ aqua (water) is listed first on virtually all water-containing cosmetic inci labels as the highest-concentration ingredient, serving as the foundation of the global cosmetics industry.
How It Works: Acts as solvent for all water-soluble ingredients (glycols, amino acids, water-soluble actives). forms the continuous external phase of o/w emulsions (lotions, creams, serums). provides aqueous environment for enzymatic and chemical reactions between actives. ph adjustment medium.
Typically Found In: Virtually all cosmetic products โ the most universal cosmetic ingredient globally
TECHNICAL DETAILS
Primary Category: Functional ingredient โ water
Secondary Functions: Skin conditioning
Application Areas:
Facial Skincare
Body Care
Hair Care
Beard Care
Color Cosmetics (Makeup)
Dietary/Oral Supplements
Typical Concentration Range: Varies widely โ up to 95% in some toners and serums
SOURCING & ETHICS
Vegan Status: Yes โ water (deionised/purified)
Halal Status: Yes
Source Notes: Cosmetic-grade water is purified (deionised, distilled, or ro filtered) to prevent mineral content interference with formulation stability. european pharmacopoeial water (aqua purificata ph. eur.) is the quality standard for pharmaceutical and high-end cosmetic formulations.
SKIN COMPATIBILITY
Irritancy Rating: 1/5 โ non-irritant
Comedogenicity Rating: 0/5 โ non-comedogenic
Sensitivity Concerns: Well-tolerated by most skin types.
Safe for Sensitive Skin: Yes
SAFETY & COMPATIBILITY
Safety Profile: Good safety profile at recommended concentrations. ewg score: 1โ2.
Works Well With: Standard skincare actives
Avoid Combining With: No known significant incompatibilities
SCIENTIFIC NOTE
Water's position as the first inci ingredient on most cosmetic labels reflects the regulatory requirement to list ingredients in descending concentration order โ meaning water is the most abundant ingredient in the majority of cosmetic products. the fundamental role of water as the universal cosmetic solvent and vehicle makes it simultaneously the most important cosmetic ingredient and the one that requires the most sophisticated formulation chemistry to control โ every emulsifier, thickener, preservative, and ph adjuster exists primarily to manage water's interaction with other ingredients in formulation.
