Behind the Curtain: How the Algorithm Works
The MosAI model (algorithm) evaluates each product against several criteria. The algorithm assesses the efficacy potential for a potential skin benefit (anti-aging, prevention, microbiome boosting, etc), based on the profile parameters that you have entered, along with data from your routine tracker. The algorithm incorporates publicly available data and evidence behind efficacy of individual skincare ingredients, their stated or estimated concentration in a product, as well as, to a limited extent, the combination of ingredients in the formulation. Additionally, the algorithm pulls information from your environment including weather trends, ultraviolet (UV) indices, and air quality (AQI) indices to inform our scores. The MosAI model also evaluates the product descriptions from brands and retailers for claims and promises. Based on this information, Mosaique calculates its “Compatibility” score.
