ZEOLITE

Description

Zeolite is a naturally occurring mineral with a unique microporous structure, making it a versatile ingredient in skincare formulations. This aluminosilicate compound is renowned for its exceptional absorption and ion-exchange properties, which contribute to its effectiveness in various skincare applications.

In skincare products, zeolite acts as a powerful detoxifying agent, capable of trapping and removing toxins, heavy metals, and other impurities from the skin. Its porous structure allows it to absorb excess oils and sebum, making it particularly beneficial for oily and acne-prone skin types. Zeolite also exhibits mild exfoliating properties, helping to gently remove dead skin cells and promote cell turnover.

The mineral's ability to balance pH levels on the skin's surface can contribute to maintaining a healthy skin barrier. Additionally, zeolite has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, potentially aiding in the reduction of redness and irritation associated with various skin conditions.

When formulating with zeolite, it's important to consider its particle size and purity to ensure optimal efficacy and safety. The ingredient is often used in cleansers, masks, and oil-control products, typically at concentrations ranging from 0.5% to 5%.
