Description

Triolein is a naturally occurring triglyceride composed of three oleic acid molecules attached to a glycerol backbone. This colorless, odorless oil is widely found in various plant and animal fats, making it a common component in many natural oils such as olive oil, peanut oil, and human adipose tissue.

In skincare formulations, triolein serves multiple purposes. Its emollient properties help to soften and smooth the skin, improving texture and reducing the appearance of fine lines. As an occlusive agent, it forms a protective barrier on the skin's surface, reducing transepidermal water loss and enhancing hydration.
