Trilaurin

Description

Trilaurin is a naturally occurring triglyceride composed of three lauric acid molecules attached to a glycerol backbone. This waxy, solid substance is commonly found in coconut oil and palm kernel oil. In skincare formulations, trilaurin serves multiple purposes, primarily as an emollient and texture enhancer.

As an emollient, trilaurin helps to soften and smooth the skin by forming a protective barrier that reduces moisture loss. This property makes it particularly beneficial for dry or mature skin types.
