Description

Tetrasodium EDTA (Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) is a versatile chelating agent widely used in skincare and cosmetic formulations. This synthetic compound effectively binds to metal ions, preventing them from interfering with product stability and performance. In skincare, Tetrasodium EDTA plays a crucial role in preserving product integrity by inhibiting the growth of microorganisms and preventing color changes or rancidity caused by metal-induced oxidation.

The ingredient enhances the efficacy of preservatives and antioxidants in formulations, extending product shelf life. It also improves the foaming and cleansing properties of personal care products by softening water and reducing the negative effects of hard water minerals on skin and hair. Tetrasodium EDTA is particularly beneficial in products designed for use in areas with hard water.
