TEA-LAURATE

Description

Tea-Laurate is a versatile anionic surfactant widely used in skincare and cosmetic formulations. This ingredient is derived from the esterification of lauric acid with triethanolamine (TEA), resulting in a compound that effectively combines cleansing and emulsifying properties. Tea-Laurate's molecular structure allows it to interact with both oil and water, making it an excellent choice for removing impurities and excess sebum from the skin.

In skincare products, Tea-Laurate functions primarily as a gentle cleanser and emulsifier. It helps create stable emulsions by reducing surface tension between oil and water phases, ensuring uniform product consistency. This ingredient is particularly beneficial in facial cleansers, body washes, and shampoos due to its mild nature and ability to produce a rich, creamy lather.

Tea-Laurate also exhibits moisturizing properties, helping to maintain skin hydration during the cleansing process. Its pH-balancing effect contributes to maintaining the skin's natural protective barrier. While generally well-tolerated, some individuals with sensitive skin may experience mild irritation. As with any skincare ingredient, patch testing is recommended before widespread use to ensure compatibility with individual skin types.
