SYNTHETIC PETROLATUM

Description

Synthetic Petrolatum is an engineered alternative to traditional petroleum-derived petrolatum, designed to mimic its occlusive and moisturizing properties. This synthetic compound is created through advanced chemical processes, resulting in a substance with a similar molecular structure to its petroleum-based counterpart. It forms a protective barrier on the skin, effectively reducing transepidermal water loss and promoting hydration retention.

The ingredient exhibits excellent emollient properties, helping to soften and smooth the skin's surface. Its non-comedogenic nature makes it suitable for various skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin. Synthetic Petrolatum is often incorporated into formulations for dry skin conditions, wound healing, and lip care products.

Unlike traditional petrolatum, this synthetic version offers enhanced purity and consistency, minimizing the risk of contamination with potentially harmful substances. It is typically free from polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and other impurities associated with petroleum-derived products. The ingredient's stability and compatibility with other cosmetic ingredients make it a versatile choice for skincare formulations, providing long-lasting moisturization and skin protection.
