SORBITOL

Description

Sorbitol is a sugar alcohol widely used in skincare and cosmetic formulations as a humectant and moisturizing agent. This naturally occurring compound is found in various fruits and can also be synthetically produced. Its molecular structure allows it to attract and retain moisture, making it an effective ingredient for hydrating the skin.

In skincare products, sorbitol helps to maintain skin moisture levels by drawing water from the environment and deeper skin layers to the surface. This property makes it particularly beneficial for dry or dehydrated skin. Sorbitol's gentle nature makes it suitable for sensitive skin types and is often used in products designed for individuals with eczema or psoriasis.
