Description

Sodium Trideceth Sulfate is a widely used anionic surfactant in personal care and cosmetic products. This synthetic ingredient is derived from ethoxylated tridecyl alcohol and sulfuric acid, resulting in a mild, effective cleansing agent. It functions primarily as a foaming and cleansing agent in shampoos, body washes, and facial cleansers.

The "trideceth" component refers to the ethoxylation of a 13-carbon alcohol chain, while the "sulfate" portion indicates the presence of a sulfate group. This structure allows Sodium Trideceth Sulfate to effectively remove dirt, oil, and other impurities from the skin and hair. Compared to some other sulfates, it is generally considered gentler and less likely to cause irritation, making it suitable for a range of skin types.
