Description

Sodium nitrite is a multifunctional ingredient utilized in various skincare formulations for its preservative and antioxidant properties. This inorganic compound, with the chemical formula NaNO2, appears as white or slightly yellowish crystals and is highly soluble in water. In skincare, sodium nitrite acts as a potent nitrosating agent, which can help inhibit the growth of harmful microorganisms, thus extending product shelf life.
