TRIDECETH-4

Description

Trideceth-4 is a versatile synthetic surfactant and emulsifier commonly used in skincare and haircare formulations. This ethoxylated alcohol is derived from tridecyl alcohol and ethylene oxide, resulting in a molecule with excellent solubilizing properties. Trideceth-4 functions as a mild cleansing agent, helping to remove dirt, oil, and other impurities from the skin and hair without causing excessive dryness.

In skincare products, Trideceth-4 aids in creating stable emulsions, allowing oil-based and water-based ingredients to mix effectively. It also enhances the spreadability of formulations, improving product texture and application. In haircare, it assists in the even distribution of active ingredients throughout the hair shaft.

Trideceth-4 has a low molecular weight, which contributes to its ability to penetrate the skin and hair cuticle. This characteristic makes it useful in delivering beneficial ingredients deeper into the skin or hair structure. While generally considered safe for use in cosmetics, it may cause mild irritation in individuals with sensitive skin. As with any ingredient, patch testing is recommended before incorporating products containing Trideceth-4 into a regular skincare or haircare routine.
