Common Name(s): Sodium pantetheine sulfonate, sodium pantetheine sulfonate, pantetheine derivative, coa precursor antioxidant
CAS Number: N/a
DESCRIPTION
What It Does: Provides pantetheine-pathway coa precursor activity for acetyl-coa energy metabolism and antioxidant fatty acid synthesis in skin.
Why It's Used: Sodium pantetheine sulfonate is selected as a stabilised water-soluble coa precursor — the sulfonate modification provides oxidative stability over free pantetheine while retaining the cysteamine thiol chemistry for coa biosynthesis.
How It Works: Pantetheine sulfonate → hydrolysis → pantetheine → phosphorylation → 4'-phosphopantetheine → coa; coa → acetyl-coa energy metabolism + fatty acid synthesis.
