Description

Sodium iodate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula NaIO3. In skincare formulations, it serves primarily as a preservative and antimicrobial agent. This white, crystalline solid is highly soluble in water, making it easy to incorporate into various cosmetic products.

The compound's efficacy stems from its ability to release small amounts of iodine, which exhibits potent antimicrobial properties.
