Description

Quaternium-81 is a cationic conditioning agent widely used in personal care products, particularly in hair care formulations. This synthetic quaternary ammonium compound is prized for its ability to impart softness, manageability, and static reduction to hair and skin. Its chemical structure allows it to adhere to negatively charged surfaces, such as hair and skin, forming a thin, protective film.

In hair care products, Quaternium-81 enhances wet and dry combing properties, reduces flyaways, and improves overall hair texture. It is especially effective in leave-in conditioners and detangling sprays. For skincare applications, it provides a smooth, silky feel and helps to retain moisture.

Quaternium-81 is typically used at concentrations between 0.1% to 5%, depending on the formulation and desired effect. It is compatible with a wide range of other cosmetic ingredients and remains stable across various pH levels.
