Description

Quaternium-43 is a quaternary ammonium compound widely used in personal care and cosmetic formulations. This cationic surfactant serves multiple functions in skincare and haircare products, primarily as a conditioning agent and antistatic additive. Its molecular structure consists of a positively charged nitrogen atom bonded to four alkyl groups, giving it unique properties that make it valuable in various applications.

In skincare formulations, Quaternium-43 acts as an emollient, helping to soften and smooth the skin's surface. It forms a thin, protective film that can temporarily reduce transepidermal water loss, contributing to improved skin hydration. The ingredient also exhibits antimicrobial properties, which can be beneficial in preserving product integrity and potentially assisting with acne-prone skin.

For haircare products, Quaternium-43 excels as a conditioning agent, reducing static electricity and improving combability of both wet and dry hair.
