PSICOSE

Description

Psicose, also known as D-allulose, is a rare sugar with significant potential in skincare formulations. This low-calorie monosaccharide occurs naturally in small quantities in certain fruits and has gained attention for its unique properties. In skincare, psicose functions as a humectant, drawing moisture to the skin and helping to maintain hydration. Its molecular structure allows it to form hydrogen bonds with water molecules, creating a protective barrier on the skin's surface.

Psicose exhibits antioxidant properties, potentially offering protection against free radical damage and oxidative stress. This characteristic may contribute to its anti-aging effects, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Additionally, psicose has been shown to enhance the production of hyaluronic acid in the skin, further improving moisture retention and skin elasticity.

Unlike some traditional sugars, psicose does not promote glycation, a process that can lead to collagen breakdown and premature aging. Its gentle nature makes it suitable for various skin types, including sensitive skin. As a versatile ingredient, psicose can be incorporated into a wide range of skincare products, from serums and moisturizers to masks and toners, offering hydration and potential anti-aging benefits.
