Description

Propyl gallate is a synthetic antioxidant commonly used in skincare and cosmetic formulations to prevent oxidation and extend product shelf life. This ester of gallic acid and propanol is a white to creamy-white crystalline powder that is soluble in oils and fats. Its primary function is to protect formulations against rancidity by inhibiting the formation of peroxides in oils and fats.

In skincare, propyl gallate offers several benefits beyond its preservative properties. It helps stabilize vitamin C and other antioxidants in formulations, enhancing their efficacy.
