PPG-34

Description

PPG-34, also known as Polypropylene Glycol-34, is a versatile synthetic polymer widely used in skincare and cosmetic formulations. This ingredient functions primarily as an emollient, humectant, and viscosity-controlling agent. Its molecular structure allows it to form a protective barrier on the skin, helping to reduce transepidermal water loss and maintain hydration.

In skincare products, PPG-34 contributes to a smooth, silky texture and enhances the spreadability of formulations. It's particularly beneficial in leave-on products such as moisturizers, serums, and sunscreens. The ingredient's humectant properties help attract and retain moisture in the skin, promoting a plump, hydrated appearance.

PPG-34 is generally well-tolerated by most skin types and is considered non-comedogenic, making it suitable for use in products designed for acne-prone skin. Its ability to improve product texture without leaving a greasy residue makes it a popular choice in lightweight, fast-absorbing formulations.

While PPG-34 is synthetic, it's derived from propylene oxide, a petroleum-based product. It's important to note that this ingredient is not naturally derived and may not be suitable for formulations marketed as "all-natural" or "organic."
