PPG-33 SORBITOL

Description

PPG-33 Sorbitol is a versatile synthetic ingredient commonly used in skincare and personal care products. This compound is a polyether alcohol derived from the reaction of propylene oxide with sorbitol, resulting in a water-soluble, viscous liquid with excellent moisturizing properties.

As a humectant, PPG-33 Sorbitol attracts and retains moisture, helping to keep the skin hydrated and supple. Its molecular structure allows it to form a protective barrier on the skin's surface, reducing transepidermal water loss and promoting long-lasting hydration. This ingredient is particularly beneficial in leave-on formulations such as lotions, creams, and serums.

PPG-33 Sorbitol also functions as an emollient, enhancing the texture and spreadability of products while providing a smooth, non-greasy feel on the skin. Its ability to solubilize other ingredients makes it valuable in creating stable, homogeneous formulations. Additionally, this compound exhibits mild surfactant properties, aiding in the gentle cleansing of the skin without causing excessive dryness.

Due to its low irritation potential and compatibility with various skin types, PPG-33 Sorbitol is widely used in products designed for sensitive or dry skin.
