PPG-13

Description

PPG-13, or Polypropylene Glycol-13, is a versatile synthetic polymer used in various skincare and haircare formulations. This clear, colorless liquid functions primarily as an emollient and solvent, contributing to the texture and performance of personal care products.

As a humectant, PPG-13 helps attract and retain moisture, promoting skin hydration and improving product spreadability. Its low molecular weight allows for easy absorption, making it an effective carrier for other active ingredients. In haircare, it can help reduce frizz and improve manageability.

PPG-13 also serves as a viscosity controller, helping to stabilize emulsions and adjust product consistency. Its mild nature makes it suitable for sensitive skin formulations. Additionally, it can enhance the foam quality in cleansing products and act as a lubricant in shaving preparations.

While generally considered safe for cosmetic use, PPG-13 is typically used in concentrations below 5% in leave-on products and up to 10% in rinse-off formulations. It's compatible with a wide range of ingredients, making it a valuable component in multifunctional skincare and haircare products.
