Description

Potassium hydroxide, also known as caustic potash or KOH, is a highly alkaline compound widely used in skincare and cosmetic formulations. This powerful ingredient serves multiple functions, primarily as a pH adjuster and buffering agent. In skincare products, potassium hydroxide helps to neutralize acidic components and maintain optimal pH levels, which is crucial for product stability and efficacy.

At low concentrations, potassium hydroxide acts as an exfoliant by loosening the bonds between dead skin cells, promoting cell turnover and smoother skin texture.
