Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) is a versatile synthetic polymer widely used in skincare and cosmetic formulations. This water-soluble substance is known for its excellent film-forming and adhesive properties, making it a valuable ingredient in various topical applications. PVP forms a protective barrier on the skin, helping to lock in moisture and enhance the delivery of active ingredients.

In skincare products, PVP functions as a binder, stabilizer, and viscosity-increasing agent. It contributes to the smooth texture and even application of creams, lotions, and serums.
