Description

Polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) is a highly versatile synthetic fluoropolymer with exceptional chemical and thermal stability. In skincare formulations, PVDF serves as a film-forming agent and texture enhancer. Its unique molecular structure, consisting of repeating units of vinylidene fluoride, imparts water-repellent and oil-resistant properties to cosmetic products.

PVDF's ability to form thin, uniform films on the skin's surface makes it valuable in long-wearing makeup and sunscreen formulations. It enhances product adherence and improves resistance to water, sweat, and sebum. This polymer also contributes to a smooth, silky texture in creams and lotions.
