Description

Polyquaterniums are a diverse family of cationic polymers widely used in skincare and haircare formulations. These synthetic compounds are characterized by their positive charge and ability to form films on skin and hair surfaces. The "quat" in their name refers to the quaternary ammonium compounds that make up their structure.

Polyquaterniums serve multiple functions in cosmetic products, including conditioning, moisturizing, and anti-static properties. They are particularly effective in improving the texture and manageability of hair, reducing frizz, and enhancing shine. In skincare, they can act as humectants, helping to retain moisture in the skin.
