Description

Polydiethylsiloxane, also known as polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), is a versatile silicone-based polymer widely used in skincare and cosmetic formulations. This synthetic compound is characterized by its clear, colorless appearance and unique molecular structure, consisting of repeating siloxane units with methyl groups attached to silicon atoms.

In skincare applications, polydiethylsiloxane serves multiple functions. It acts as an effective emollient, forming a protective barrier on the skin's surface to reduce moisture loss and improve hydration. The ingredient's low surface tension allows for easy spreading, resulting in a smooth, silky texture that enhances product application and skin feel.
