Description

Polybutene is a synthetic polymer widely used in skincare and cosmetic formulations. This versatile ingredient is derived from isobutylene, a petrochemical byproduct, and exists as a clear, colorless, and odorless liquid. Its molecular structure consists of repeating butene units, giving it unique properties that make it valuable in various skincare applications.

In skincare products, polybutene primarily functions as an emollient and skin conditioning agent. It forms a protective barrier on the skin's surface, helping to lock in moisture and prevent transepidermal water loss.
