Description

Poloxamer 231 is a versatile synthetic copolymer belonging to the poloxamer family, widely used in skincare and personal care formulations. This non-ionic surfactant consists of polyethylene oxide (PEO) and polypropylene oxide (PPO) blocks, arranged in a triblock structure (PEO-PPO-PEO). Its unique composition grants Poloxamer 231 excellent emulsifying, solubilizing, and stabilizing properties.

In skincare products, Poloxamer 231 functions as an effective emulsifier, helping to blend oil and water-based ingredients into stable formulations. It also acts as a mild surfactant, aiding in the removal of dirt and oil from the skin without causing excessive dryness. The ingredient's solubilizing capabilities make it valuable for incorporating hard-to-dissolve active ingredients into various skincare formulations.

Poloxamer 231 exhibits thermo-reversible gelation, allowing it to form gels at higher temperatures and revert to a liquid state when cooled.
