Common Name(s): Piperazine bisferulate,piperazine bisferulate,bis-ferulic acid piperazine conjugate,dual uv+antioxidant active
CAS Number: N/a
DESCRIPTION
What It Does: Provides doubled uv-a photoprotection from two ferulic acid chromophores absorbing at ฮปmax 325 nm, doubled antioxidant radical scavenging from the symmetric bis-catechol/phenol architecture, and nf-kb inhibitory anti-inflammatory activity from the piperazine nitrogen.
Why It's Used: The symmetrical bis-ferulic architecture provides 2ร the uv-absorbing and radical-scavenging capacity versus single ferulic acid โ the piperazine linker positioning both chromophores for additive absorption without intramolecular quenching.
How It Works: Two ferulic c6-c3 chromophores (ฮปmax 325 nm, ฮต ~15,000 mโปยนcmโปยน each) โ combined molar absorptivity ~30,000 mโปยนcmโปยน at 325 nm. two catechol/phenol hydroxyl groups โ doubled h-atom donation capacity for peroxyl radical scavenging. piperazine ring: tertiary amine ikk-ฮฒ interaction โ nf-kb inhibitory modulation.

SAFETY & COMPATIBILITY
Safety Profile: Excellent safety profile. ewg score: 1.
Works Well With: Vitamin c,vitamin e,ferulic acid, spf, other antioxidants
Avoid Combining With: No significant incompatibilities
SCIENTIFIC NOTE
Bis-ferulic conjugate photostability: the piperazine amide bond protection of ferulic acid's carboxylate prevents the main ferulic acid photodegradation pathway (alpha,beta-unsaturated acid decarboxylation) โ providing superior photostability versus free ferulic acid for leave-on uv protection applications.
