Description

Phosphoric acid is a versatile inorganic compound widely used in skincare formulations for its multifaceted benefits. This colorless, odorless liquid acts as a pH adjuster and exfoliant, playing a crucial role in maintaining product stability and enhancing skin renewal. At lower concentrations, typically between 0.5% to 2%, phosphoric acid effectively regulates the acidity of cosmetic products, ensuring optimal efficacy and preservation.

As an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA), phosphoric acid promotes gentle exfoliation by dissolving the bonds between dead skin cells, facilitating their removal and revealing fresher, smoother skin underneath. Its molecular structure allows for efficient penetration into the skin, stimulating collagen production and improving overall skin texture. Phosphoric acid also exhibits mild astringent properties, helping to tighten pores and control excess oil production.

In skincare formulations, phosphoric acid synergizes well with other active ingredients, enhancing their absorption and effectiveness.
