Description

Pentapeptides are short chains of five amino acids that have gained significant attention in the skincare industry for their potential anti-aging properties. These synthetic peptides are designed to mimic naturally occurring proteins in the skin, particularly those involved in collagen production and cellular repair processes. When applied topically, pentapeptides are believed to penetrate the skin's outer layer and signal cells to boost collagen synthesis, potentially reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

One of the most well-known pentapeptides is palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, also known as Matrixyl.
