Description

PEI-250, or Polyethylenimine-250, is a versatile synthetic polymer widely used in haircare formulations. This cationic compound features a high molecular weight and a branched structure, making it an effective conditioning agent and film-former. PEI-250 exhibits strong affinity for hair fibers, particularly damaged or chemically treated strands.

In haircare products, PEI-250 functions as a potent detangling agent, reducing friction between hair strands and improving combability. Its cationic nature allows it to neutralize negative charges on the hair surface, resulting in reduced static and frizz. The polymer forms a protective film on the hair shaft, enhancing shine and providing a smooth feel.

PEI-250 also demonstrates excellent substantivity, allowing it to remain on the hair even after rinsing. This property contributes to long-lasting conditioning effects and improved manageability. The ingredient is particularly beneficial in leave-in treatments, hair masks, and conditioners designed for dry, damaged, or color-treated hair.
