PEI-10

Description

PEI-10, or Polyethyleneimine-10, is a multifunctional polymer used in various haircare formulations. This synthetic compound is characterized by its cationic nature and low molecular weight, making it an effective conditioning agent and film-former. PEI-10 exhibits excellent adhesion to hair fibers, providing a protective barrier against environmental stressors and mechanical damage.

In haircare products, PEI-10 serves as a conditioning agent, imparting softness and manageability to the hair. It helps reduce static electricity and frizz, resulting in smoother, more controllable hair. The ingredient's film-forming properties contribute to increased hair body and volume, making it particularly beneficial for fine or limp hair types.

PEI-10 also functions as a curl-enhancing agent in styling products, helping to define and maintain curls while providing hold. Its ability to form a flexible film on the hair surface aids in moisture retention, which can be especially beneficial for dry or damaged hair.

When formulating with PEI-10, it is typically used in concentrations ranging from 0.1% to 2%, depending on the desired effect and product type. It is compatible with a wide range of other haircare ingredients, making it versatile for various formulations.
