PEG-36 OLEATE

Description

PEG-36 Oleate is a versatile emulsifier and surfactant widely used in skincare and cosmetic formulations. This synthetic ingredient is derived from the esterification of oleic acid with polyethylene glycol (PEG). Its molecular structure consists of a hydrophilic PEG chain bonded to a lipophilic oleate group, giving it excellent emulsifying properties.

In skincare products, PEG-36 Oleate functions as an emulsion stabilizer, helping to blend oil and water-based ingredients seamlessly. It also acts as a mild surfactant, assisting in the cleansing process without overly stripping the skin's natural oils. The ingredient enhances the spreadability of formulations, improving texture and application.

PEG-36 Oleate is particularly beneficial in leave-on products such as moisturizers, serums, and sunscreens, where it helps maintain product stability and improves the delivery of active ingredients. Its low irritation potential makes it suitable for use in sensitive skin formulations. However, as with all PEG compounds, it may increase skin permeability, potentially enhancing the absorption of other ingredients in the formula.
