PEG-35 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL
Description
PEG-35 Hydrogenated Castor Oil is a versatile emulsifier and surfactant widely used in skincare and haircare formulations. This synthetic ingredient is derived from castor oil that has been hydrogenated and then ethoxylated, resulting in a water-soluble compound with excellent emulsifying properties.
As a non-ionic surfactant, PEG-35 Hydrogenated Castor Oil helps to stabilize oil-in-water emulsions, allowing for the effective blending of oil-based and water-based ingredients in cosmetic products. It also functions as a solubilizer, enabling the incorporation of essential oils and fragrances into aqueous solutions.
In skincare formulations, this ingredient aids in the even distribution of active ingredients and enhances product texture. For haircare applications, it can improve the spreadability of conditioners and leave-in treatments. PEG-35 Hydrogenated Castor Oil is generally well-tolerated by most skin types and is considered safe for use in cosmetics when used at appropriate concentrations.
While effective, formulators should be aware that this ingredient may cause irritation in some individuals with sensitive skin. As with any cosmetic ingredient, patch testing is recommended before widespread use.
