PEG-30 LANOLIN
Description
PEG-30 Lanolin is a versatile emollient and emulsifier widely used in skincare and haircare formulations. This synthetic compound is derived from lanolin, a natural wax obtained from sheep's wool, and modified with polyethylene glycol (PEG) to enhance its solubility and compatibility with other ingredients.
As an emollient, PEG-30 Lanolin helps to soften and smooth the skin and hair, providing a silky, non-greasy feel. Its emulsifying properties allow it to effectively blend oil and water-based components, creating stable and uniform products. This ingredient is particularly beneficial in leave-on skincare products, such as lotions, creams, and serums, as well as in hair conditioners and styling products.
PEG-30 Lanolin exhibits excellent moisture-retention capabilities, helping to prevent water loss from the skin and hair. It forms a protective barrier that locks in hydration without clogging pores. Additionally, this compound can enhance the penetration of other active ingredients, improving the overall efficacy of skincare and haircare formulations.
While generally well-tolerated, individuals with wool allergies should exercise caution when using products containing PEG-30 Lanolin.
