Description

PEG-240, also known as Polyethylene Glycol 240, is a high molecular weight polymer widely used in skincare and cosmetic formulations. This synthetic compound is derived from ethylene oxide and functions primarily as a humectant, emollient, and thickening agent. PEG-240 has the ability to attract and retain moisture, making it valuable for hydrating skin and improving product texture.

In skincare formulations, PEG-240 helps create a smooth, non-greasy feel while enhancing the spreadability of creams and lotions. Its hygroscopic nature allows it to draw water from the atmosphere, contributing to increased skin hydration. This ingredient also acts as a solubilizer, aiding in the dispersion of other components within a formulation.
