PEG-24 LANOLIN

Description

PEG-24 Lanolin is a versatile emollient and emulsifier derived from lanolin, a natural wax secreted by wool-bearing animals. This modified form of lanolin is created through ethoxylation, which enhances its water solubility and reduces the potential for allergic reactions often associated with raw lanolin.

In skincare and haircare formulations, PEG-24 Lanolin functions as a conditioning agent and moisture-retention aid. It forms a protective barrier on the skin and hair, helping to lock in hydration and prevent moisture loss. This ingredient is particularly effective in leave-on products and rinse-off formulas alike.

PEG-24 Lanolin exhibits excellent compatibility with other cosmetic ingredients and helps to stabilize emulsions. It can improve the texture and spreadability of products, contributing to a smooth, non-greasy feel. In haircare, it can enhance manageability and add shine without weighing down the hair.

While generally well-tolerated, individuals with lanolin sensitivities should exercise caution. PEG-24 Lanolin is commonly used in a wide range of personal care products, including moisturizers, conditioners, and styling products, typically at concentrations between 0.1% and 5%.
