PEG-200 CASTOR OIL

Description

PEG-200 Castor Oil is a versatile ingredient widely used in both skincare and haircare formulations. This modified castor oil is created through the process of ethoxylation, where ethylene oxide is added to castor oil, resulting in a water-soluble compound. The "200" in its name refers to the average number of ethylene oxide units added during the manufacturing process.

As an emollient and emulsifier, PEG-200 Castor Oil helps to blend oil and water-based ingredients, creating stable and smooth formulations. It enhances the texture of products, providing a silky feel without excessive greasiness. In skincare, it aids in the even distribution of active ingredients and can improve the spreadability of creams and lotions. For haircare, it acts as a conditioning agent, helping to reduce frizz and enhance manageability.

PEG-200 Castor Oil also functions as a solubilizer, assisting in the incorporation of fragrances and essential oils into water-based products. Its mild nature makes it suitable for a wide range of formulations, including cleansers, moisturizers, and hair treatments. While generally well-tolerated, individuals with sensitive skin should perform a patch test before widespread use.
