PEG-20 OLEATE

Description

PEG-20 Oleate is a versatile emulsifier and surfactant widely used in skincare and personal care formulations. This synthetic compound is derived from the ethoxylation of oleic acid, resulting in a water-soluble ester with excellent emulsifying properties. Its chemical structure consists of a hydrophilic polyethylene glycol (PEG) chain attached to a lipophilic oleate group, allowing it to effectively bridge oil and water phases in cosmetic products.

In skincare formulations, PEG-20 Oleate functions as a stabilizer for emulsions, helping to create smooth, uniform textures in creams and lotions. It also acts as a mild surfactant, assisting in the cleansing process without causing excessive dryness or irritation. This ingredient enhances the spreadability of products and can improve the solubility of other active ingredients, potentially increasing their efficacy.

PEG-20 Oleate is generally well-tolerated by most skin types and is particularly useful in formulations designed for dry or sensitive skin. Its emollient properties contribute to skin softening and moisturization, while its ability to form stable emulsions helps extend the shelf life of cosmetic products.
