OVUM OIL

Description

Ovum oil, derived from unfertilized chicken eggs, is an emerging ingredient in skincare formulations. This nutrient-rich oil contains a complex blend of lipids, proteins, and vitamins that closely resemble the natural composition of human skin. The high concentration of phospholipids in ovum oil enhances its ability to penetrate the skin barrier, facilitating the delivery of beneficial compounds to deeper layers of the epidermis.

Key components of ovum oil include cholesterol, triglycerides, and lecithin, which work synergistically to improve skin hydration and repair damaged skin barriers. The oil is particularly rich in vitamins A, D, and E, known for their antioxidant properties and ability to promote collagen synthesis. Ovum oil also contains essential fatty acids, including omega-3 and omega-6, which help reduce inflammation and support skin elasticity.

Clinical studies have shown that ovum oil can effectively reduce transepidermal water loss, improve skin firmness, and diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Its emollient properties make it suitable for dry and sensitive skin types, while its non-comedogenic nature allows for use on acne-prone skin without clogging pores.
