OLUS OIL

Description

Olus Oil, also known as vegetable oil or hydrogenated vegetable oil, is a versatile and widely-used ingredient in skincare formulations. This colorless to pale yellow oil is derived from various plant sources, including coconut, palm, and rapeseed. Its primary function is as an emollient, providing a smooth and silky texture to skincare products while helping to soften and moisturize the skin.

The oil is composed of a mixture of triglycerides, predominantly saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids. This composition contributes to its stability and resistance to oxidation, making it an ideal choice for products with extended shelf lives. Olus Oil forms a protective barrier on the skin's surface, reducing transepidermal water loss and improving hydration.

In skincare formulations, Olus Oil is frequently used in creams, lotions, and balms. It enhances product spreadability and imparts a non-greasy feel. The oil is generally well-tolerated by most skin types and is considered non-comedogenic. Its mild nature makes it suitable for sensitive skin formulations. Additionally, Olus Oil can act as a carrier for other active ingredients, improving their penetration and efficacy in skincare products.
