OLETH-45

Description

OLETH-45 is a versatile synthetic emulsifier and surfactant widely used in skincare and cosmetic formulations. This polyethylene glycol (PEG) ether of oleyl alcohol functions as an emollient, solubilizer, and thickening agent. Its amphiphilic nature allows it to effectively bridge the gap between oil and water-based ingredients, creating stable emulsions and enhancing product texture.

In skincare applications, OLETH-45 aids in the even distribution of active ingredients throughout formulations, ensuring consistent product performance. It contributes to the smooth, silky feel of creams and lotions, improving their spreadability and absorption. The ingredient's emollient properties help soften and moisturize the skin, making it particularly useful in dry skin formulations.

OLETH-45 exhibits excellent compatibility with a wide range of cosmetic ingredients, including fragrances, essential oils, and botanical extracts. Its ability to solubilize oils and other lipophilic substances makes it valuable in cleansing products, helping to remove makeup and impurities effectively. While generally well-tolerated, individuals with sensitive skin should perform patch tests before using products containing OLETH-45, as with any new skincare ingredient.
