OLETH-11

Description

Oleth-11 is a synthetic ethoxylated fatty alcohol derived from oleyl alcohol. This non-ionic surfactant and emulsifier plays a crucial role in various skincare and cosmetic formulations. With a Hydrophilic-Lipophilic Balance (HLB) value of approximately 12, Oleth-11 effectively bridges the gap between oil and water-soluble ingredients, promoting stable emulsions and enhancing product texture.

In skincare applications, Oleth-11 functions as an emollient and solubilizer, helping to dissolve oil-soluble ingredients into water-based formulations. It aids in the even distribution of active ingredients throughout the product, ensuring consistent efficacy. The ingredient's mild nature makes it suitable for use in sensitive skin formulations.

Oleth-11 also exhibits cleansing properties, making it valuable in gentle facial cleansers and makeup removers. Its ability to form clear solutions with water and oils contributes to the creation of transparent or translucent products. While generally well-tolerated, it's important to note that some individuals may experience mild irritation. As with any cosmetic ingredient, patch testing is recommended before widespread use.
