Description

Octoxynol-16 is a synthetic surfactant and emulsifier widely used in cosmetic and personal care formulations. This non-ionic compound belongs to the alkylphenol ethoxylate family and is characterized by its ability to reduce surface tension between oil and water phases. Octoxynol-16 consists of an alkylphenol group attached to a chain of 16 ethylene oxide units, providing it with both hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties.

In skincare and cosmetic products, Octoxynol-16 serves multiple functions. It acts as an effective cleansing agent, helping to remove dirt, oil, and other impurities from the skin. Its emulsifying properties enable the stable mixing of oil and water-based ingredients, ensuring product consistency and preventing separation.
