NYLON-66

Description

Nylon-66, also known as polyamide 66, is a synthetic polymer widely used in skincare and cosmetic formulations. This versatile ingredient is derived from the condensation of hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid, resulting in a durable and flexible material. In skincare products, Nylon-66 functions primarily as a texture enhancer and mattifying agent.

The fine, spherical particles of Nylon-66 contribute to a smooth, silky feel when applied to the skin, improving the overall texture and spreadability of formulations. Its oil-absorbing properties make it particularly useful in products designed for oily or combination skin types, helping to control excess sebum and reduce shine throughout the day. Nylon-66 also acts as a soft-focus agent, temporarily filling in fine lines and pores to create a more even-looking complexion.

This ingredient is compatible with a wide range of cosmetic formulations, including powders, foundations, primers, and sunscreens. Nylon-66 is generally considered safe for use in skincare products and is non-comedogenic, making it suitable for acne-prone skin. Its stability and resistance to heat and chemicals ensure that it maintains its effectiveness in various product formulations.
