Description

Nonyl Nonoxynol-100 is a synthetic nonionic surfactant and emulsifier widely used in cosmetic and personal care formulations. This high molecular weight compound belongs to the ethoxylated alkylphenol family, derived from nonylphenol ethoxylate with approximately 100 ethylene oxide units.

In skincare products, Nonyl Nonoxynol-100 functions primarily as an emulsifier, helping to blend oil and water-based ingredients to create stable, homogeneous formulations. Its large molecular structure provides excellent emulsion stability and contributes to the smooth, uniform texture of creams and lotions.

This ingredient also exhibits mild cleansing properties, aiding in the removal of dirt and oil from the skin surface. Additionally, it acts as a solubilizer, enhancing the solubility of other ingredients in the formulation, particularly fragrances and essential oils.
