METHYLTHIAZOLYL-ETHANOL

Description

Methylthiazolyl-ethanol, also known as Actifol™ or Methyl-MTE, is a potent bioactive compound utilized in advanced haircare formulations. This synthetic molecule is designed to mimic the effects of vitamin B1 (thiamine) on hair follicles, promoting improved hair growth and overall scalp health.

The compound works by enhancing cellular energy production within hair follicles, stimulating keratinocyte proliferation, and supporting the anagen phase of the hair growth cycle. Clinical studies have shown that methylthiazolyl-ethanol can increase hair density by up to 22% and improve hair thickness by 13% after regular use over a 3-month period.

Methylthiazolyl-ethanol is particularly effective in addressing hair thinning and loss associated with androgenetic alopecia. It helps counteract the miniaturization of hair follicles caused by dihydrotestosterone (DHT) sensitivity. The ingredient is typically incorporated into leave-on treatments, serums, and scalp lotions at concentrations ranging from 0.5% to 2%.

This compound is well-tolerated by most users and can be combined with other hair growth actives such as minoxidil or peptides for enhanced efficacy. Its ability to improve scalp microcirculation also contributes to overall hair health and vitality.
