Methoxycitronellal is a synthetic fragrance ingredient commonly used in both skincare and haircare formulations. This clear, colorless liquid belongs to the aldehyde chemical family and is characterized by its fresh, citrusy aroma with subtle floral undertones. Derived from citronellal, a naturally occurring compound found in citrus fruits and lemongrass, methoxycitronellal offers enhanced stability and longevity compared to its natural counterpart.

In skincare and haircare products, methoxycitronellal serves primarily as a fragrance enhancer, imparting a pleasant scent to formulations.
