MEROXAPOL 178

Description

MEROXAPOL 178 is a non-ionic surfactant belonging to the family of poloxamers, also known as Pluronics. This synthetic copolymer consists of a central hydrophobic chain of polyoxypropylene (PPO) flanked by two hydrophilic chains of polyoxyethylene (PEO). Its unique structure allows it to function as an effective emulsifier, solubilizer, and dispersing agent in various skincare and pharmaceutical formulations.

In skincare products, MEROXAPOL 178 acts as a stabilizer for emulsions, helping to blend oil and water-based ingredients. It also enhances the spreadability of topical formulations, improving their texture and feel on the skin. This ingredient demonstrates mild cleansing properties without causing excessive dryness or irritation, making it suitable for use in gentle cleansers and makeup removers.

MEROXAPOL 178 exhibits thermo-responsive properties, transitioning from a liquid to a gel state as temperature increases. This characteristic makes it valuable in controlled-release drug delivery systems and temperature-sensitive skincare formulations. Additionally, it can enhance the penetration of active ingredients through the skin barrier, potentially improving the efficacy of treatment products.
